Vincent Sheppard Care & Warranty

Vincent Sheppard Care & Warranty (below)

Please take the greatest care when unwrapping your Vincent Sheppard furniture so as not to damage it in any way. Damage from knives and scissors, scratches from staples, or from placing tabletops directly on the ground are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

CARE

Australian weather conditions can be harsh, so understanding how to care for your Vincent Sheppard furniture is important.

Caring for outdoor furniture is important, especially if your furniture is not undercover and exposed to the elements all year round, you must take precautions to ensure the longevity of your furniture in either situation.

Here are a few tips for maintenance and cleaning to help you get the most out of your Vincent Sheppard furniture.

Important points to note:

  1. Avoid prolonged contact with objects that may retain water, for example, flowerpots.
  2. Clean bird droppings and sap from trees immediately as this is particularly damaging and can cause corrosion or permanently stain your furniture.
  3. Colours may experience a colour adjustment over an extended period. Any changes in the visual appearance of the metal that are directly linked to ageing are not covered by warranty.
  4. Leaving furniture in the direct line of sprinklers may cause permanent water marks.
  5. Powder-coated steel and aluminium are sturdy and robust, however it isn't immune to scratches. Leaving scratches and marks unattended for any length of time will cause corrosion.
  6. Tilt tables slightly during rainy periods to prevent water from accumulating when not in use.
  7. Take cushions inside or at least undercover during inclement weather.

Outdoor Materials

Aluminium

Wipe aluminium with a soft damp cloth.

Rope

To clean rope wipe with a damp cloth. For more stubborn stains apply a mist of soapy water solution in a spray bottle then work the solution into the rope with a soft cloth by patting or rubbing gently. Rinse solution thoroughly. Allow to air dry.

DO NOT use high-pressure hose on any rope products.

Synthetic Weave

Wash with a non-foaming mild detergent every three months. Use a soft nylon brush or low-pressure clean to clean between the weaving. Salty or industrial environments may require more frequent cleaning.

Teak

Left outdoors, untreated teak will adjust to the elements, over the years the colour of the wood will change to an attractive silver grey, we suggest occasional washing with warm soapy water to discourage mould or moss.

Untreated teak is not stainproof. Should you wish to fully protect your teak furniture against stains, you can apply a sealer. This is an invisible layer which will prevent any liquids from penetrating the wood.

We don't offer advice on sealing teak products and suggest you speak to the sealer supplier before applying.

Fabric

Nearly all Vincent Sheppard cushion covers are removable, depending on the cushion material there are different washing instructions to keep in mind.
